Tenants of 212 45th Street

Built in 1912 as the Lawrenceville YMCA, the three-story building was designed by local architect Robert Trimble and originally included a gymnasium, swimming pool, bowling alley, and dormitories.

In 1928 the building was sold to the Pittsburgh Boys’ Club, part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and they supported the community through 2000.

In 2000, Career Connections Charter School moved to the  space, teaching students in grades nine through 12 from throughout Pittsburgh. And in 2014, when the school shuttered its doors, the building was converted into apartments.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018. And in 2021, Attack Theatre started a new chapter, making this iconic building home for performances, classes, collaboration and community connection.
