Attack Theatre presents two excerpts of their recent works featuring daring physicality and original live music. “At a later date” is a playful look at life and love through the songs of Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Katie Costello (recently heard on ABC’s “Private Practice”). “Remainder,” is a dramatic telling of a man lost in his present and fleeing from his past. This piece is inspired by works of art from the 2008 International exhibition, as the culmination of a ten-month collaboration with the Carnegie Museum of Art.

Some Assembly Required engages the audience with creation, improvisation, and performance inspired by specific works of visual art. The process begins with the presentation of a short dance accompanied by live music. After viewing this piece, the audience embarks on a guided discussion of chosen artworks. This discussion can be based on varied media (paintings, sculptures, installations, photography), musical instruments, architecture, or any object. The performers transform these comments into music and movement, which they insert and overlay into the existing piece. This new layer of emotion, intent and color adds passion to the existing dance. This process concludes with a synthesis of the conversations and improvisations resulting in the one-time performance of Some Assembly Required.
